WORKSHOPS

The Long Beach Environmental Services Bureau will be offering periodic workshops for private haulers and building owners.

WORKSHOP SCHEDULE

Program Requirements

To ensure that all residents of Long Beach have equal access to recycling collection services, City Council has mandated that all private haulers provide recycling services to their multi-family accounts.

Here's what haulers are required to do:

  • Haulers are required to make regularly scheduled recycling service available to all multi-family dwelling buildings
  • At a minimum, haulers must recycle the same commodities/materials that the City’s residential recycling program currently targets
  • Recycling charges must be included in the base service level price quote and/or contract
  • Information must be provided by the hauler regarding targeted materials, collection schedule, and contact information
  • Collection day(s) must be posted on the container and/or building – visible to residents and City inspection.
  • The City will establish an inspection process to ensure that haulers are providing the program as stipulated i.e. no overflow, sufficient marketing effort, etc.

Inspection

City of Long Beach staff will periodically inspect sites to insure the hauler is in compliance with the program (sufficient storage, collection, marketing materials).

Training

The Long Beach Environmental Services Bureau will be providing periodic workshops for private haulers and building owners. The workshops are currently in the planning stage. Please check back with us for Workshop details.
